Xenometric provides complete support for Optex’s Akribos people counter. Optex is a world leading provider of sensor technologies accross many different industries. Optex describe their people counter as follows, “the OPTEX Akribos VC-1020 is a real-time and multi-directional indoor people counter that provides up to 98% accuracy. It ignores trollies and baskets and manages groups of individuals by tracking the direction or every individual, even if they are loitering.”
The Akribos provides two mechanisms for the delivery of aggregated historical data, FTP and HTTP. Xenometric supports both of these mechanisms and will automatically collect all missing data after any network issues. Xenometric also supports the real-time delivery of count data using the Akribos’ MQTT mechanism. This allows the Xenometric software to update our real-time displays within seconds of a visitor walking under the sensor.
Xenometric has developed 3 solutions to ensure we have a product that is right for your environment. 1. Customers who want the simplest and quickest installation can use our XenoCloud solution. The Akribos is mounted over the entrance and sends its counts directly to Xenometric’s cloud server. Customers can view their data in real-time on our secure HTML5 website. 2. Customers with more infrastructure, or who require greater IT control, can install the X-Server software on their server. All Akribos cameras will deliver real-time data to the X-Server over your private or public network. The same web reporting is available on your private network as is available on XenoCloud. 3. Xenometric provides a Windows application called XenoView for single locations with up to 4 Akribos. This is a cost effective solution for small or independent stores who do not require full reporting capabilities.

The simplest example of an Optex Akribos sensor coupled with Xenometric software, is a single entrance store with one sensor installed above the doorway.
The Akribos tracks visitors into and out of the store. This information is relayed to the Xenometric software immediately over the customer’s network using the built-in MQTT protocol. Every 15-minutes, the Akribos sends the cumulative counts for the current period and any data that the Xenometric software is missing. This allows us to recover all missing data after any faults, such as a network problem.
The Xenometric software can be installed in-store (XenoView), on the customer’s Head Office server (X-Server) or on Xenometric’s cloud server (XenoCloud). For all software options, the customer can analyse their data in reports, view an access control screen and trigger digital IO.
